Succulent Day: Rainy Week

This week has been very rainy in Houston. Plants love the rain, this kind of “shower”, full of nutrients, it is critical to the health of them, but be careful with the excess water especially if they are potted. I Move potted succulent from direct rain, and put them in a place they can feel the water as a “spray”, do the same with those in the window, leave the window open for a limited time (do not want a flood in my house) and then close until after the rain; I wait for those cooler nights that are so benefit for my succulents. The other succulents are planted directly into the ground, I have to just wait and see how they fare with lots of rain; my front yard has good drainage until now. I have noticed that the succulent outdoor grow more beautiful and fast on those living in the interior, as long as the sun the feed in a portion of the day, though still observing the changes of climate in this part of Texas.

… But when the rain ended and the sun peeked, I took a few pictures, to remember the effect of rain.

Esta semana ha sido muy lluviosa en Houston. Las Plantas aman la lluvia, éste tipo de “ducha”, llena de nutrientes, es fundamental para su salud, pero hay que tener cuidado con el exceso de agua sobretodo si están en macetas. Muevo las suculentas plantadas en macetas de la lluvia directa y las pongo en un lugar que puedan sentir el agua como un “rocío”, lo mismo hago con las que están en la ventana, dejo la ventana abierta por un tiempo limitado (no quiero una inundacion en mi casa) y luego cierro hasta que termine la lluvia; espero por esas noches más frescas que tanto las benefician. Las otras suculentas que están plantadas directamente en la tierra, sólo me toca esperar y ver cómo les va con mucha lluvia; mi patio delantero tiene buen drenaje hasta los momentos. He notado que las suculentas al aire libre crecen más lindas y rápido que las que viven en el interior, siempre y cuando el sol las alimente en una porción del dia, aunque sigo observando los cambios de clima en este parte de Texas.

… pero cuando la lluvia se acababa y se asomaba el sol, tomaba unas cuantas fotos, para recordar el efecto de la lluvia.
